CERD Civil Society Consultation Meeting: DUBLIN

Have something to say about the state of racism in Ireland? Have your say at the Dublin CERD Civil Society Consultation Meeting As part of its preparation for the CERD Collective Civil Society Alternative Report, the ENAR Ireland CERD Roadshow is coming to Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway. The Irish Government is presenting its State Report to CERD (Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination) in Geneva this autumn. In response to this and to ensure that Civil Society groups in Ireland contribute fully to the CERD examination of Ireland process ENAR Ireland is coordinating a Collective Civil Society Alternative Report in which Civil Society can voice its concerns to the CERD. This Report will be submitted to CERD this autumn. It is important for us to hear directly from people who are affected by racism and racist discrimination, from those who have been combating racism and discrimination, and who have knowledge about and experience of the barriers faced by people affected by racism. Join our 2-hour consultation in Dublin if your group or organisation:  Wishes to point out the key problems of racial discrimination in Ireland; Has any recommendations for the state to act on (e.g. resources, policies, legislation or improvements);  Has any evidence of racism, either institutional or individual (e.g. reports, research, media links, photos, data etc.). Please register your interest here and we will be back in touch. Other ways to contribute to the Collective Civil Society Alternative Report If you are unable to participate but would like to contribute your views and observations to the Report, you can do so by: - Filling our CERD Questionnaire by 20th August, 5pm; OR - Filling in our CERD Reporting Template by 2nd September, 5pm Let’s make sure Ireland meets its obligations – have your say!
