THE ESPOSITO QUARTET with REDMOND O’TOOLE (8-string Brahms guitar)

Saturday 26th October 2019 | 3pm | Farmleigh Ballroom | €15; €50 family ticket (4)   THE ESPOSITO QUARTET with REDMOND O’TOOLE (8-string Brahms guitar) The Esposito Quartet comprises four of our most distinguished musicians with a combined wealth of experience as recital artists, orchestral leaders and teachers, who have been playing as a quartet since 2010. Their name honours Michele Esposito, pianist and composer, who for forty years from 1888 was the initiator for much of the chamber music making in Dublin through the establishment of The Royal Dublin Society concert series.  Redmond O’Toole is recognised as one of the most distinctive and original guitarists of his generation. He was the first to adopt Paul Galbraith’s ‘Brahms guitar’. This groundbreaking instrument and technique uses an 8-string guitar in the position of a cello.  Programme: John Field - Piano works arranged for Quartet by Sebastian Adams Aleksandra Vrebalov - Pannonia Boundless Boccherini - Guitar quintet in D major G448 'Fandango' with Redmond O'Toole, guitar
