      Making An Entrance: Kevin Jansson

      A piano student of Mary Beattie at the CIT Cork School of Music, eighteen-year-old Kevin Jansson is emerging as one of the finest musicians of his generation, he has six international 1st prizes to his name on both piano and violin. He also received ten 1st prizes at Feis Ceoil in 2015 and 2017, and received the 1st prize at the 2018 Frank Maher Classical Music awards. In 2017 he made his Carnegie Hall debut with the New York Concerti Sinfonietta playing both piano (Beethoven 3rd) and violin (Mendelssohn) concertos. He has also performed as soloist with CSM Chamber Orchestra, Cork Youth Orchestra, Dublin Symphony Orchestra, Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra. Most recently he performed Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2 with the RTÉ National Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall, Dublin and Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast. Performance will be held in the Entrance Hall.
